Catching up

Howdy!
Welcome to my blog spot. This is my way of catching up with you and staying connected. My little black book of phone numbers has dwindled over the years. No time to call, no time to meet - let's e-catch up. These pages are anecdotes that I would have bored you with (lucky escape for you!) if we were meeting frequently. Let me know if something is particularly ugh!

Historic day

Jan 20, 2009

Imagine that! Some of us have to work even on innauguration day.
I took the train to San Francisco this morning and got into the office
at 9:30. SF was bright and beautiful - the waters of the bay glistened in the
sunlight as I got off the muni tram. As I entered the building lobby, I noticed a crowd.
About 50 people were just standing in the lobby watching the
TV screen on the wall. It was Obama's innaugural ceremony.
I stood there watching and gaping with the others.

It was an excellent speech. Obama is an awesome orator.
I scuttled up to the office and there again people were
gathered in the cafeteria watching the TV screens - we have 4.
There was even a message from the CEO inviting us to join
the telecast.

Poor Obama has to smile all day. The kids look a bit exhausted.
"It's like our weddings." said an Indian colleague.
